CARNIVAL. THE SECOND LIFE OF THE PEOPLE

EL CARNAVAL DE BARRANQUILLA

The year was 1851 and Barranquilla, with its 6,114 inhabitants is the capital town of the canton of the province of Sabanilla. It was the town, capital born under a lucky star and, above all, good location, because Barrie was born on the banks of the Magdalena River.
It is said that born under a lucky star because in addition to the capital was near the seaport of Sabanilla, which in the nineteenth century became the Golden Gate, where foreign immigrants came perched on the bulk of the goods imported from Europe.
